We were asked as a creative agency to direct and produce the company brand identity for Kohn and Case, a curated artisan phone and tablet accessories shop.
Working closely with the client we established a narrative and tone of voice for the brand; artisan, design-led, informal, fun and character-driven. The brand comprises of a specially commissioned figure illustration of Kohn and Case underlined with a vintage letterpress logo face.
The brand gracefully cascades from a fully featured logo down to a compact signature mark to ensure it accommodates varying formats across a myriad of applications from packaging, print, web and social platforms.
Kohn & Case bespoke signature logo design and company branding. The main brand identity orbits around our central characters Kohn and Case. A bespoke illustration was produced to serve as mascots to the brand.

Kohn & Case Logo custom logoface design and branding. The brand logotype was taken from an original letterpress charcaters to futher emphasis the brands value of artisan, hands on products and merchandise.
Kohn & Case custom branded stationery design. The company branding is implemented subtley on the startionery items in a deliberately unlaboured manner. The paper material also follwed the brand style in the use of a high cotton pulp content, recycled paper stock.
Kohn & Case custom website branding home page. The website continued to reinforce the core brand artisan values by retianing a weathered and unlaboured implementation of the branding. Use of a typewriter letter font brought hand tool characteristics to the brand will minimum use of colour gave the overal informal appearance.
Website pages designs relyed mostly on excellent product photography and use of broad, subtle brand colour. We used a typewriter style font as the primary typeface for the website to bring further reinforcmetn fo the brands artisan values
The company website design and branding was implemented with a minimalist approach to typography, relying on a very small and necessary CSS style sheet. The company brand colours were used broadly as washes of background colour to create visual punctuation between pages.
The company branding and personality were continued onto functional postal packaging by introducing the main brand character mascots onto the labelling template, with subtle and engaging messaggin from the two charcaters.
