Charity startup branding & visual identity

"A brand needs to be infused throughout the company's culture. All of its people, not just the founders, should live and breathe its values and purpose every day."

hub4 is a youth arts-based startup charity aimed at young people aged 16-25 not in education, employment or training. Funded by The Lottery Fund they offer workshop-based courses for young people who ordinarily do not flourish in a typical classroom environment or educational setting. The courses are aimed at developing an interest in furthering their education or a career in the arts and media.

The visual identity utilises bold, simple typography together with a monotone colour palette. At the heart of the brand is the hub4 logo featuring character silhouettes depicting activities that assemble to form a '4' to further emphasize the brand name and visual identity.

To promote the charity, I designed and art-directed a series of posters playing on the concept of 'not fitting in' but for all the right reasons. Each poster focused on a single area of arts and media from drama, music production, dance and live performance.
